I continue to introduce you to the Slovak national cuisine. Today they treat you to honey cakes that are baked for Christmas. Fragrant, rosy. They put them in beautiful boxes and give them to friends and family. You can bake them in advance, gingerbread is perfectly stored.
Heat the honey in a saucepan.
Add spices for the gingerbread. I have a ready-made mixture of cinnamon, anise, nutmeg and star anise.
Add powdered sugar. Stir and remove from heat.
Add butter. Stir until the butter dissolves.
Leave to cool.
Add egg. Stir with a whisk.
Mix the flour, baking powder and lemon zest.
Add parts to the honey mixture and knead the dough.
Cover with cling film and leave in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
In a separate bowl, mix all the ingredients for the filling
The cutting Board is well sprinkled with flour.
Roll out half of the dough 5 mm high.
Cut out the circles with a mold or a Cup, and put the diameter At your discretion on the prepared baking sheet (spread with baking paper).
On each circle, exactly in the middle, put half a teaspoon of filling.
Roll out the second half of the dough and cut out stars or snowflakes with a curly mold.
Carefully cover the filling with stars, press the edges slightly.
Grease with beaten egg, top with a piece of walnut.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180*C for 15 minutes.
